石渠寶笈三編(延春閣),第五冊,頁2163&*故宮書畫錄(卷八),第四冊,頁142&*故宮書畫圖錄,第二十三冊,頁306-309&* 王武(一六三二-一六九○),字勤中,號忘庵,江蘇吳縣人。家富收藏,精鑑賞,所寫花鳥極有生趣,王時敏稱讚他說:「近代寫生家多畫院氣,獨吾勤中所作,神韻生動,應在妙品中。」他和惲壽平同屬清初著名的花鳥畫家,人或以沈周、陳淳擬之。 本幅選自「畫花卉冊」,荷塘中綠葉青蛙與蜻蜓相比對,色彩極突出,而整冊筆調尤為瀟灑出眾,是王武之好作品。 &*Lotus Pond in Summer Wang Wu (1632-1690) Ch’ing dynasty Wang Wu was a native of Wu-hsien, Kiangsu. His family had a fine collection of paintings and Wang Wu was an excellent connoisseur. His sketches of birds and flowers are full of life. His contemporary, Wang Shih-min, praised him saying, “Those who sketch from life these days have too much of the academy style. Only Wang Wu’s works give true sense of reality and vitality. Would classify him in the ‘marvelous’ category”. He and Yűn Shou-p’ing were deemed the best in the bird-and-flower painting of the early Ch’ing era and together they were likened to Shen Chou and Ch’en Shun of the Ming dynasty. This leaf comes from the Album of Flower Paintings. The green of the frog and leaves is put in sharp contrasted to the red of the dragonfly. This skillful use of bright colors makes Wang Wu’s paintings outstanding.
