石渠寶笈續編(御書房),第四冊,頁2228&*故宮書畫錄(卷八),第四冊,頁112&*故宮書畫圖錄,第十二冊,頁169-170&* 錢維城(西元一七二○-一七七二年)江蘇武進人。字宗盤,號茶山,晚號稼軒。乾隆乙丑(一七四五)狀元。官至工部侍郎。初從陳書學花卉,後改習山水。 兩峰對峙,中間是遼闊的江面,遠帆片片歸去,水鳥陣陣飛來。長松下有飛閣,閣中人對江凝視。本幅構圖奇特,兩旁以實,中空為虛,在長軸中頗為罕見。山石樹木皆以短促尖銳的筆調,頗受王翬的影響。 &* Ch’ien Wei-ch’eng, style name Tsung-p’an and sobriquets Ch’a-shan and Chia-hsüan, was a native of Wu-chin, Kiangsu province. He received the chuang-yüan degree in 1745. He first studied flower painting with Ch’en Shu, but later turned to landscapes. Two cliffs confront each other with a broad river in between. Sail boats glide toward the distance; geese fly in the foreground. A scholar in a pavilion under tall pines is gazing upon the river and the distant sky. The compostion is rather unusual, for a long hanging scroll to have land masses filling both sides of the painting and leaving a wide empty area in the center is quite rare and interesting. Using a short, pointed brush, the description of the mountains and trees was influenced by that of Wang Hui.
