- 石渠寶笈續編（御書房），第四冊，頁2228&*故宮書畫錄（卷八），第四冊，頁112&*故宮書畫圖錄，第十二冊，頁169-170&* 錢維城（西元一七二○－一七七二年）江蘇武進人。字宗盤，號茶山，晚號稼軒。乾隆乙丑（一七四五）狀元。官至工部侍郎。初從陳書學花卉，後改習山水。 兩峰對峙，中間是遼闊的江面，遠帆片片歸去，水鳥陣陣飛來。長松下有飛閣，閣中人對江凝視。本幅構圖奇特，兩旁以實，中空為虛，在長軸中頗為罕見。山石樹木皆以短促尖銳的筆調，頗受王翬的影響。 &* Ch’ien Wei-ch’eng, style name Tsung-p’an and sobriquets Ch’a-shan and Chia-hsüan, was a native of Wu-chin, Kiangsu province. He received the chuang-yüan degree in 1745. He first studied flower painting with Ch’en Shu, but later turned to landscapes. Two cliffs confront each other with a broad river in between. Sail boats glide toward the distance; geese fly in the foreground. A scholar in a pavilion under tall pines is gazing upon the river and the distant sky. The compostion is rather unusual, for a long hanging scroll to have land masses filling both sides of the painting and leaving a wide empty area in the center is quite rare and interesting. Using a short, pointed brush, the description of the mountains and trees was influenced by that of Wang Hui.
