This painting depicts figures and horses in a palace garden. The architecture is rendered in the finely-detailed, ruled lines of the "boundary painting" technique. Figures and horses are touched in with mineral white pigment and are so fine as to be barely identifiable. Two figures are shown on horseback, each surrounded by a group of palace ladies. Behind them two figures carry large round "palace fans". Additional groups of attendants watch from a distance. The label strip for this album leaf attributes it to Kuo Chung-shu of the 10th century, but the style is that of the Southern Sung. The painting is a leaf in the album Sung-jen ho-pi hua.
