石渠寶笈續編(重華宮),第三冊,頁1681&*故宮書畫錄(卷六),第四冊,頁203&*魯宗貴,南宋紹定年間(西元一二二八—一二三三年)畫院待詔,浙江錢塘人。盛開葵花一枝,花朵嬌豔,招引粉蝶輕盈飛來,畫面色彩傳達出歡欣之意。 此圖為典型折枝花卉寫生,畫法精工細緻,設色鮮麗豐富,花葉轉折自然。構圖將蜀葵置於畫面大半,有如局部特寫放大。先以墨筆鉤勒輪廓,花瓣用硃砂層層暈染,葉片為汁綠暈染,以石綠加填。 本幅選自「藝苑藏真」第二冊第七開。&*Lu Tsung-kuei, native to Ch'ien-t'ang in Chekiang, was a Painter-in-Attendance at the Southern Sung court. In this work, a hollyhock branch in colorful bloom attracts an approaching butterfly, creating a visually appealing scene. This work is typical of “branch segment” flower painting (with only part of the plant shown). The technique is delicate and refined here, and the coloring opulent and rich. Flowers and leaves twist naturally. The branch occupies much of the composition, like that in a close up. The petal outlines were first done in ink and washes of cinnabar were then added. Leaves and stems were washed in bright green and then filled with malachite.
