He was gifted at painting and was noted for the unusual forms in his landscape, Buddhist, and figure paintings, done in a manner vastly different from those of his predecessors. Lofty peaks and serried ridges in this work are linked into pulsing forms as farmers till the fields in mountain villages. Protruding from numerous ridges are the eaves of buildings. Circuitous mountains and winding caves are linked together and interspersed with repeating layers of trees. This exotic composition is done with powerful brushwork and elegant colors. Painted with archaic simplicity, it has an elegant, unusual, and individually distinct manner. It was done in 1609.
