石渠寶笈初編(重華宮),下冊,頁710 &*故宮書畫錄(卷三),第一冊,頁221 &*白玉蟾(1194-?)南宋道士,道教內丹派南宋第五祖。原姓葛名長庚,字如晦,又字白叟,號海瓊子,又號瓊山道人、海南翁、武夷散人。祖籍福建閩清,出生於瓊州(今南海瓊山)。自少聰穎,異於常人,十二歲舉童子科,諳通諸經,兼擅詩賦書畫。後來,因任俠殺人,改裝為道士,逃亡至武夷。此後,浪游江湖,歷盡艱辛,其足跡遍及江東、兩湖、西蜀、閩、廣。嘉定五年(1212)師事陳楠,得受金丹秘訣,陳楠死後,他常蓬頭跣足,野服弊衫,形狀瘋癲,往來於羅浮、武夷、龍虎、天臺、金華諸山之間,形成正式教團,成為道教內丹派南宋的實際創始者。逝病後,詔封「紫清真人」,世稱「紫清先生」。 本幅寫來,線條神態飛舞,略顯出的飛白筆調,難免有一份神秘虛玄。作者是符籙派的白玉蟾,當然令人想起道教裡別具一格的詭異書法「畫符」:神秘文字與圖案的結合,或許也可以看成線條與形象造型的表象。「符籙」正是用來召神、驅鬼、避邪、袪病。這豈不與原始社會的圖騰,所具有的功用,用來震懾鬼靈是相同的。(王耀庭)&*1.王耀庭,〈帝國的回憶 國立故宮博物院瑰寶赴法展專輯二 — 白玉蟾書四言詩〉,《故宮文物月刊》,第186期(1998年9月),頁6-7。 &*葛長庚(約西元十三世紀),閩清(福建)人,字如晦,號海瓊子。繼為白氏子,故又名白玉蟾。隱於武夷山,每往來名山,神異莫測,詔封紫清真人。善篆隸草書,後人稱其草書如龍蛇飛動。 此幅狂草打破直行而書的習慣,自由穿插,筆勢雄強,觀者可感受書寫的情緒與內容互為輝映。此帖選自「宋元寶翰」第十二幅。&*After Ko Ch'anf-keng (a native of Fukien), was adopted by the Pai family, he assumed the name Pai Yü-chan. A recluse at Mt. Wu-i, miraculous events were associated with him, so he was called the Tzu-ch'ing Taoist Master. He excelled at seal, clerical, and cursive scripts. Later critics wrote that his cursive script was like dragons and snakes dancing. This scroll of wild cursive script breaks away from the custom of composing calligraphy in distinct vertical lines. The elegant combination of the flowing strokes and dots with the powerful application of the brush makes the viewer able to witness the intense emotions of the artist. Furthermore, the spirit of the style harmonizes with the contents of this verse.
