- 石渠寶笈續編（乾清宮），第一冊，頁504&*故宮書畫錄（卷六），第四冊，頁197&*范寬（約十一世紀初），北宋早期畫家，華原人。字仲立，本名中正。性寬厚有大度，故時人目之為范寬。山水始師李成，又師荊浩，後乃自立新法。 范寬傳世山水，多嵯峨崒屴，石如積鐵。此獨為土山，筆多滃染，以秀潤勝，或為華原另一面目。宋徽宗題稍弱，恐出後人增，本幅選自「名畫琳瑯」冊。 &*Fan K’uan (fl.early 11th cent.) was a native of Hua-yuan, Shansi. His style name was chung-li. Fan K’uan worked during the early years of the Northern Sung Dynasty. At first he studied the landscapes of Li Ch’eng and Ching Hao. Later he established a style of his own. Most of the landscapes attributed towering peaks with tones like pent-up steel. This painting on the other hand, depicts earthcovered mountains with washed of ink , resulting in a rich moist scene. The painting may well reflect another aspect of Fan K’uan’s work. The inscription in the style of the Sung Emperor Hui-tsung may be a later interpolation.
