- 故宮書畫錄（卷八），第四冊，頁132&*故宮書畫圖錄，第十四冊，頁1-2&* 沈顥（西元一五八六生一六六一尚在）吳縣人，字朗倩，號石天。性豪放好奇。詩文書畫無所不能，深於畫理，著有畫塵行世。 沈朗倩畫，內府所收甚少，此幅於嘉慶時始入宮，筆意清奇，特有雅秀之韻。一山兩樹，屋舍寂然，不以多爭勝，覺筆墨意境間有與陳老蓮崔子忠互通鼻息處。 &* Shen Hao was a native of Wu-hsien, in Kiangsu province, with tzu (style name) Lang-ch’ien and hao (sobriquet) Shih-t’ien. He was a bold and spirited individual with a curious eye for strange phenomena. Accomplished in all the gentlemanly arts, literary composition, calligraphy and painting, he was particularly well versed in the last and wrote a book called Hua-chu, “Chats on Painting”. He was known to be still around in 1661. Very few of his paintings were collected by the emperors; this example entered the imperial collection during the Chia-ch’ing reign (1796-1821). There is an exceptionally fine-toned elegance to its striking originality. It depicts no sensational scenery, simply a swelling and two trees on a single mountain. In his inspiration and technique the artist seems to breathe the same air as that of Ch’en Hung-shou and Ts’ui Tzu-chung, two equally original contemporaries of his.
