石渠寶笈續編(寧壽宮),第五冊,頁2811&*故宮書畫錄(卷五),第三冊,頁371&*故宮書畫圖錄,第七冊,頁87-88&*1.江兆申,〈文徵明松陰曳杖 軸〉,收入國立故宮博物院編,《吳派畫九十年展》(臺北:國立故宮博物院,1975年初版,1976年再版,1981年三版),頁313。 &* 文徵明(西元一四七○至一五五九年),江蘇長洲人。本名文壁,字徵明,後以字行,亦字徵仲,別號停雲生、衡山居士。詩文書畫造詣均佳,與沈周、唐寅、仇英共稱為「明四大家」。 水墨畫山泉林屋,沿溪邊有長松數株,蒼秀矗立。士人二閑步而來,倚杖者行於前。後有山壁瀑泉,遠樹人家,層層推遠。此幀皴山畫樹皆用中鋒細筆,精工綿密而不瑣碎。畫成於嘉靖甲辰(一五四四),是年徵明七十五歲。&*Walking With a Staff in the Shade of Pine Trees Wen Cheng-ming (1470-1559) Ming Dynasty Wen Cheng-ming was a native of Ch’ang-chou, Kiangsu. Originally named Pi, he later took his style name Cheng-ming as his given one. Wen excelled in the literati arts of poetry, prose, calligraphy and painting, and along with Shen Chou, T’ang Yin and Ch’iu Ying, was counted as one of the Four Masters of the Ming. This ink painting depicts mountains, a stream, forest, and pavilions. Along the edge of the stream stand erect, old pine trees of vardant green, rising vertically to a great height. Two scholars are strolling along, the one in front leaning on a staff. In the background is a waterfall cascading over a cliff. Trees, rocks, houses and mountains extend in overlapping series into the distance. The dotting techniques employed in the rendition of mountains and trees were accomplished through the use of a fine, sharply pointed brush. The work is delicate and circumspect without being trifling or fussy; it was completed in 1544 when Wen Cheng-ming was 75 years old.
