故宮書畫錄(卷五),第三冊,頁497&*故宮書畫圖錄,第九冊,頁113-114&* 許儀(西元一五九九-一六六九年),江蘇無錫人。字子韶,號歇公,又號顧影子。李采石之甥,畫得其傳,有出藍之譽。山水人物界畫及花鳥蟲魚,無一不精。 畫叢荷卓然挺立於水中,花形碩美,碧葉豐鮮,採勾勒填彩法成之。花筋葉脈皆勾畫細謹,白粉、石青的局部敷染,重而不滯,呈現芙蕖妍麗嬌美之姿。本幅右下角有二方作者許儀的鈐印。 &* Hsü I, the nephew of the artist Li Ts’ai-shih, followed his uncle’s style, but became even more famous. Hsü excelled at most subject matter, such as landscapes, figures, ruled-line architecture, birds-and-flowers, and grasses-and-fish. In this work, stately lotuses rise straight up from the water below. Their gorgeously full blossoms and verdant leaves appear vividly fresh and luxurious. They were first outlined with brushstrokes and then filled with washes of color. The veins of the leaves and blossoms were delicately outlined and washed with white and blue to make them solid, but not heavy. The artist rendered the elegant beauty and poise of the lotus. Two seals of the artist are in a lower left corner
