石渠寶笈三編(乾清宮),第一冊,頁477 &*故宮書畫錄(卷八),第四冊,頁54 &*故宮書畫圖錄,第一冊,頁71-72&*傳說中仙人的生活,「食則翠芝朱英」。求長生不死的靈藥,芝是最為重要的一種。採芝的題材也就相當常見。本幅畫仙人手捧大桃,肩荷鋤掛筠籃,籃中有紫芝,一鶴後隋。畫之質地為絹,絹之經緯疏如紗布,就墨底所見,是先托底而後畫。明代浙派畫家喜作民間題材,本幅即是。五代無此風格,題名誤。&*According to tradition, immortals are said to "eat fungus and flowers". The fungus plant is one of the most important herbs in the search for the elixir of immortality. As a result, picking so-called "spirit" fungus is a commonly seen subject in Taoist art. In this painting, an immortal is holding a large peach and a basket full of fungus is suspended from a hoe slung over the shoulder. A crane appears behind the figure. The painting is done on silk as coarse as gauze, and the brushwork of the underlying preliminary sketch is still evident. In the Ming Dynasty (13680-1644), artists of Che School often depicted subjects popular in folk art. This is a good example.
