The road makes its way through withered trees, and with the heavy snow, a frozen white on the mountain crags, invokes the bitter cold of winter. As they shrink back from the penetrating chil1, covering their faces and huddling deeper into their coats, the sojourners' plight cannot fail to move the viewer. The mountains and rocky ravines have been portrayed with refined brushwork in a tasteful manner.
