The mist has begun to rise and dissipate, leaving the foreground landscape exposed while the background trees and temple and cottage buildings are concealed in the clouds. The landscape forms are accented with light and dark "Mi" dots, associated with Mi Fu (1051-1107), to create layers of ink. More washes were added to create the appearance of a moist landscape. Since the brushwork and composition is slightly stiff, it would indicate that this work was probably done in the Ming (1368-1644) or Ch'ing (1644-1911) dynasties.
