- 中文說明:文房四寶雖以筆、墨、紙、硯為序，但宋朝蘇易簡的「文房四譜」中，卻視硯為首位，以其品性不變，可終生珍藏。而且硯之材質以石為主，因不同地域所開採雕造出的質感和款式也各顯風華。本件石硯雖未經刨光雕飾，卻備感樸實而古意盎然。
- 日文說明:文房四宝では筆、墨、紙、硯の順序になっているが、宋朝の蘇易簡は「硯」を最上位に見なし、品性変らず終生珍蔵すべきであると云う。而も硯の材質は石が主で、違った所から開採されたものは、その彫造の質感と様式にそれぞれ特長がある。この石硯は彫飾されていないが、感じが樸実古意盎然たる物。
- 英文說明:Among the “Four Treasures” of the calligrapher, the brush, ink, paper, and ink stone, Su Yi Jian lists the ink stone foremost as it can stand the test of time. Moreover, ink stones are mainly made of stone, making samples from different areas unique in material and style. Although the engravings on this piece have been eroded, it still brims with ancient style.
