石渠寶笈三編(御書房),第七冊,頁3129&*故宮書畫錄(卷三),第一冊,頁107&*1.朱惠良,〈董其昌法書展簡介 之 明董其昌書杜律〉,《故宮文物月刊》,第121期(1993年4月),頁48。 &*董其昌(西元一五五五-一六三六年),字玄宰,號思白,江蘇華亭人。萬曆十七年進士,官至禮部尚書。善書畫,富收藏,尤精鑑賞。 此冊書杜甫<秋興>詩,以幅後所鈐「太史氏」推斷,約六十歲時所作。董氏傳世草書不多,本冊受二王及懷素風格影響,然運筆構字、線條粗細、轉折起伏,皆較早期稍富變化,通幅多用中鋒圓筆,筆乾墨燥,時出飛白,洋溢動態之美。&*Tung Ch'i-ch'ang, a native of Kiangsu, served as an official at court but is best known for his all-around achievements in connoisseurship, art collecting, painting, and calligraphy. There are few surviving examples of cursive script by Tung. Judging from his seal impressed on this work, it was done at around the age of 60. The style mostly follows that of the T'ang calligrapher Huai-su. The forms of the characters, the thickness of the strokes, and the movement of the brush all reveal more variety than in his earlier style. Much of this work was also done using centered brushwork. With the dry ink applied with speed, the strokes often break up into "flying white"for a light and airy touch that reveals the paper underneath.
