石渠寶笈三編(延春閣),第五冊,頁2192&*故宮書畫錄(卷五),第三冊,頁520&*故宮書畫圖錄,第十冊,頁131-132&*1.葛婉章,〈清王翬夏麓晴雲〉,《故宮文物月刊》,第5期(1983年8月),封底。 &*作者王翬(西元一六三二-一七一七年),江蘇常熟人,字石谷,別號耕煙散人、烏目山人、劍門樵客、清暉主人。從小便善畫,青年時,得拜王鑑、王時敏為師,二人盡傳所學外,又常偕帶他參觀各地收藏,藉此揣摩古人畫技,因此他能夠筆參古今、貌合南北,畫技精熟為清代之冠。他的作品最大特色,是以一種精爽的筆墨和清淡的著色形成的明淨畫面,配合著曲折盤迴的造景,一片山光嵐色,水流飛雲,樹叢掩映著村舍和行旅,處處引人入勝。&*Wang Hui was a native of Ch’ang-shu in Kiangsu province. He was already a capable painter in his youth when he met Wang Chien and Wang Shih-min who became his teachers. In addition to providing him with thorough instruction in painting, they also took him to view and copy the works of the ancient masters of many great collections. In this way, he was able to absorb the brush techniques of both the past and present masters. Because Wang Hui was able to unite the best qualities of the Northern and Southern Schools of painting and because of his consummate skill, he became the greatest master of brush technique of the Ch’ing dynasty. The most important feature of his work was the skillful use of brush and ink and the light application of colors to create a painting of clear and clean appearance, which was harmonized with complexly constructed, twisting and turning compositions. Passages of mountains in luminescent mist, flowing water and flying clouds, village houses and travellers seen amidst groves of trees, all draw the viewer into the scene.
