石渠寶笈初編(御書房),下冊,頁1144&故宮書畫錄(卷五),第三冊,頁453&故宮書畫圖錄,第九冊,頁17-18&李士達(活動於十七世紀初),號仰槐,江蘇蘇州人。明神宗萬曆二年(1574)進士。善畫,長於人物,並寫山水。在藝壇享有聲名後,權貴索畫,雖重幣亦不可得。萬曆間隱居新郭,著有《仰槐山水論》。 一六○六年五月,畫家在友人池中,看見了兩朵盛放的蓮花並生在一枝蓮幹上,形貌非但可掬,而且還是一種佳兆(並蒂蓮是男女好合的象徴),於是寫生記下此景。幅中畫家以淋漓的水墨大筆劃出太湖石,然後再加以濃墨強調出塊面效果,石之嶙峋藉由墨彩呈現。傍石而出的蓮葉幹,亦全以沒骨法出之,汁綠調墨為面,淡汁綠為葉背,清新秀雅。並開二蓮則僅以淡墨筆鈎畫花瓣,未著一彩,在綠葉的相襯下,益顯潔淨雅緻。畫家以畫山水人物擅名,雖自言不善畫花,然此作構圖用筆極為簡明清雅,別有韻致。(張華芝)& 李士達,萬曆二年(一五七四)進士。其作品最後見於光宗泰昌元年(一六二○)。江蘇吳縣人,號仰槐,以善畫人物山水名世。 萬曆丙午五月,作者於友人池中見蓮花一榦,兩朵並開,因調色點染而成此圖。雖自謂不善花卉,惟用筆用色皆極清新,縱專精於此者亦不能過。 &Auspicious Lotus Li Shih-ta (fl late 16th -early 17th c.) Ming Dynasty Li Shih-ta was a native of Soochow in Kiangsu. He obtained the chin-shih civil service degree in 1574, and his last extant painting is dated to 1620. He was famous as a skilled painter of landscapes and figures. The artist’s inscription relates that in the fifth lunar month of 1606,he came across two lotus blossoms growing back-to-back on the same stalk. He quickly prepared colors and painted them along with an ornamental garden rock. Although he claimed that he was not really a flower painter, the brushwork and washes of color of this work are stunningly fresh and original. A specialist in flower painting indeed could do no better.
