故宮書畫錄(卷六),第四冊,頁88-89&*石渠寶笈續編(寧壽宮),第五冊,頁2875&*故宮書畫圖錄,第二十三冊,頁234-237&*陳洪綬(1599-1652),浙江諸暨人。字章侯,號老蓮,又稱悔遲。擅長人物及花鳥、山水,喜用誇張手法,表現古拙變形的造型趣味。 以枯筆淡墨描繪折枝花,老幹新枝轉折造殊特殊,疏枝上含苞、綻放杏花,則以淡洋紅染點花瓣,濃墨點花蕊,頗具真實感。陳氏此時風格構圖由繁趨簡,設色由濃豔歸淡雅,線條由方直轉圓勁。此幅選自<雜畫冊>,個人性格特徵鮮明,創造力豐富,實為其寫生精彩佳作,作於四十八歲。(20110102)&* Chen Hongshou, a native of Zhuji in Zhejiang, had the style name Zhanghou, sobriquet Laolian, and name Huichi. He specialized in figures as well as landscapes and bird-and-flower subjects, often using exaggerated techniques to express an interest in archaic and distorted shapes. Dry brushwork and light ink were used to render a solitary branch of apricot blossoms. New twigs with buds and blossoms twist and turn from the old branch in an unusual form. Washes of light magenta portray the petals, with dark ink for the pistils, creating a very realistic effect. Chen Hongshou’s style at this time went from complex compositions to simpler ones, his coloring from opulently strong to elegantly light, and his lines from angular and straight to more rounded and powerful.
