- 石渠寶笈三編（延春閣），第四冊，頁1952&*故宮書畫錄（卷八），第四冊，頁82&*故宮書畫圖錄，第八冊，頁179-180&* 陳栝，字子正，號沱江，生卒年不詳。江蘇長洲人，陳淳之子，秉性豪放，飲酒蹤誕，有竹林賢達之風。善畫花卉，筆蹤放浪，頗饒生趣。本幅畫巖崖崒石間，翠竹挹青，梅茶吐艷，水仙綻花，瑞雪山禽相映成趣。&* Ch’en Kua came from Ch’ang-chou in Kiangsu, though his birth and death dates are not known. His tzu (style name) was Tzu-cheng, his hao (sobriquet) T’o-chiang, and he was the son of Ch’en Ch’un. He was an unrestrained man, fond of drinking and parties, having something of the spirit of the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove. Ch’en painted flowers and plants with a freedom of brushwork which exactly captures their feeling. In this painting a craggy rocks stands among bamboo of subtle greens, bright camellia and plum blossoms, and full bloom narcissi all interestingly contrasted with the delicate white of mountain birds.
