A servant boy with a lute is going over a bridge across a small stream which meanders from afar. The path leads to a thatched dwelling where a man sits reading by a window. The technique of the painting is close to that of Tu Ch’iung and Liu Chüeh, two fifteenth century artists. The brush is handled in a rather stolid and unambitious manner.
