- 石渠寶笈續編（寧壽宮），第五冊，頁2889&*故宮書畫錄（卷五），第三冊，頁516&*故宮書畫圖錄，第十冊，頁145-146&*王翬（西元一六三二－一七一七年），江蘇常熟人。字石谷，號耕煙散人、清暉主人、烏目山人、劍門樵客。山水得王時敏指授，為清四大家之一。 此為康熙壬午（一七０二）王氏七十一歲之作。一人緣溪持杖而行，急流洄洑處有水榭數間，其上作平池兩疊，皆有樓宇。;而林木森秀，磴道相通。背山微用雲煙隔斷，飛瀑瀉於其間，圖左形成大壑。一溪蜿蜒如帶，層層深入，極其幽遠。&* Wang Hui, a native of Kiangsu, studied landscape painting under Wang Shih-min and became known as one of the Four Masters of the Ch’ing dynasty. This work was done in 1702 at the age of 70.It shows a figure carrying a staff in the lower right corner. Upstream are pavilions and multi-storied buildings above rapidly swirling waters. The woods are particularly fine and penetrated by a path. The mountain in the background to the right is truncated by clouds and has a cascade descending from it. The left part of the composition shows a deep valley with a stream snaking through the landscape to the foreground, creating for a sense of silent depth.
